In Early March 2013 I am setting out on a 450 mile solo, unsupported and unassisted expedition from Longyearbyen to the northern tip of Spitsbergen and back again. The expedition should take around 30 days and I will be trying to average 15 miles a day. The picture below shows my route, the first week will be spent acclimatising to the cold which is why I am staying close to Longyearbyen before heading towards the north of the island
The plan is to travel as light as possible so that I can cover the distance each day without wearing myself out too much. During the expedition I will be filming so that on my return a short film can be made about solo travel in the arctic.
